Printer settings

Shipping documents only work if they are sufficiently legible and can be scanned correctly by the shipping company's terminal. It is therefore important that you both check your printer settings and do a test print before you get started.

Fraktjakt delivers shipping documents ready for printing, but it is your own responsibility that the physical printout works. You should therefore review your prints and make sure that they look good.

Please note
Defective prints can lead to additional fees from shipping companies and, in the worst case, that they are unable to deliver your shipments at all.

Start by making sure that you have the correct settings for your printers and paper in Fraktjakt. Under your account settings, choose the one that matches your paper format.

Local printer settings

You may also need to enter certain settings for your printer in your operating system. This is to ensure that the printouts are printed at the correct size and are not automatically shrunk with extra margins on the pages.

Regular A4 printers

Example for regular prints. Remember to set the printouts to be full actual size or 100% to avoid losing proportion and necessary details.

TSC label printer

See screnshot for TSC printers. Enter the correct height and width that match your labels.

Zebra label printer

See screenshot for Zebra printers. Enter the correct height and width that match your labels.

Review your printouts

Make a test printout and review it for problems before using it in sharp mode.
  • Black levels
Check that the printouts are sufficiently dark and that the darkness is even across the entire print without variations, lines or spots with less color.
  • Readability
Check that the text is readable and that details are not lost. If details are lost, this may be a sign that you have specified the wrong size in your print settings.
  • Size
Barcodes should be at least 25 mm high. If they are smaller, this is a sign that you have specified the wrong size for the print.
  • Barcodes
If you have the opportunity, it is also useful to do your own test scanning of the barcodes and check that they can be scanned and that the result matches the numbers under each barcode.
